What We Need
IDS Security Systems Ltd (IDS) will be what is known as the “Controller” of the personal data you provide to us. IDS’s company registration number is 3228234 and its registered address is 6c Chiltern Close, Llanishen, Cardiff CF14 5DL.Unless otherwise agreed with you, we will only collect basic personal data about you, which does not include any special categories of personal information about you (often known as “sensitive personal data”) this information does however include information such as your name, address, e mail and phone number.
When you submit information via our online enquiry form, the information is sent to us via e mail rather than being stored in a database. These emails will be deleted after 12 months unless there is a reason for us retain your details beyond that period for example if you go on to become a customer of IDS.
Why we need it
We need to know basic personal data in order to provide you with the services you have engaged us to provide and to assert our right to be recompensed in return for these services as per the services agreement or contract we have with you. If you do not provide this information then we will be unable to provide the services you have requested. We will not collect any personal data from you that we do not need in order to provide and oversee the services we have agreed to provide you with.If we collect data on our online form, this information is collected simply to respond to your enquiry for our services.
What we do with it
All the personal data we hold about you will be processed by our staff in the United Kingdom and no third parties will have access to your personal data unless there is a legal obligation or contractual reason for us to provide them with this. egIf your security system is monitored, the Monitoring Company, First County Monitoring will have access to your address, phone number and key holder details to enable them to provide the service you have engaged us to provide.

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data is processed securely. We have procedures in place that regulate how we use and store your data.
How long we keep it
We will generally keep your personal data for the length of time you are a customer of IDS and then for a minimum of 7 years after which time it will be destroyed if it is no longer required for the lawful purpose(s) for which it was obtained.What we would also like to do with it
We would like to contact you to arrange appointments to install our systems and to carry out maintenance and service visits when they are due either by telephone, post or e mail. We may also like to send you information about our services from time to time.Your rights
You have the following rights:-- To request access to the data we hold about you. A written request is required and we will let you have a description of the data and the purpose that it is being processed within a month.
- To correct any data we hold on your that is false, outdated or incomplete
- To request that we delete any/all personal data we hold on you unless we have a legitimate reason for holding this information
- To withdraw the permission you have given us in the past to send you updates.
